We call ourselves "first preventers." Our job is to prevent the collapse, the fire, the fall, or the injury before it happens. Our vision is to protect the health, safety and welfare of people by creating safe buildings and communities. We do this by applying the building codes to all types of construction.
In our cities, we act as facilitators, promoting development through customer service. We protect the environment through energy codes and green building practices. Our work builds strong, attractive communities. From the permit counter through the final inspection, and from high-rise hotels to home improvements, we guide all kinds of construction from concept to completion.
We come from various backgrounds. We are architects, engineers, and construction managers. We are plumbers, electricians, and other construction tradespeople. The common threads are an education or experience involving design or construction, and a desire to make our communities better through safe, lasting construction.
Training opportunities are available through a variety of sources. Improve your skills to get the job you want.
